сущ. стаксель (нем. stagsegel, stag – штаг, segel – парус) – треугольный парус, поднимаемый по штагу. На больших судах стаксели ставятся не только впереди фок-мачты, но и между другими мачтами. В зависимости от местоположения получают наименование в виде приставки из одного или двух слов; например, фор-стень-стаксель или грот-брам-стаксель и т.д.
